Binders may seem complicated but when you take a look at this handy table all will become clear. Simply imagine what you need. For instance. "I need a high gloss paste to model fresh mud that can be reversed later if I make a mistake". Navigate the table - first find a binder that is good for "high gloss" effects. Alkyds ENML 2.0 and Acrylics all are fit for the purpose. Then check reversibility column - only ENML 2.0 offers full reversibility. Now narrow it down - only binder that is good for your purpose i.e. is both good for high gloss, fresh mud and can be reversed is ENML 2.0 "gloss action" type binder. That's that!
