It is fair to say that the original Ford Bronco was ahead of its time. This was Ford's first compact SUV, a class of vehicle that is so popular today. Basically, the Bronco remained unchanged from 1966 to 1977, and there were five generations of it. With a wheelbase of 2,337 mm, the first Bronco was intended to be a multi-purpose, four-wheel drive van. Base price was under $2,200 at its introduction.
