• RAL 5017 Verkehrsblau is the color of the modern livery of German police cars, replacing the previously used green RAL 6029 Minzrün.
• RAL 5017 Traffic Blue is also used for painting Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-27 Flankers according to the digital camouflage scheme, developed and implemented at MiGremont, Zaporizhzhya State Aviation Repair Factory. This color scheme also suggests pixel patches of bright blue RAL 5015 Himmelblau, RAL 7040 Fenstergrau, undersides painted RAL 5012 Lichblau, and radomes painted RAL 7000 Fehgrau.
