This was one of the Japanese Army's combat vehicles during World War II. It was adopted by the military as a vehicle capable of engaging enemy tanks using shaped-charge anti-tank rounds called "Ta-dan." Its structure consisted of a Type 1/Type 3 medium tank chassis, mounted with a Type 99 7.5cm tank gun, which was a modified Type 41 mountain gun. Mass production began in 1944, and about 30 units were produced and deployed to units within mainland Japan.
