Around 13,000 examples of this sturdy and reliable 2-ton 4x2 ambulance were produced during WWII; based upon a civilian truck, it was designed with the input of the Medical Corps and had bench seats that could be converted into two-level beds. It served in France, North Africa, Italy, and even across Western Europe after the Normandy invasion, and was often seen not just with Army units, but also at airfields and the like.
