The SU-102 was a prototype Soviet self-propelled gun from the Second World War. The prototype of the vehicle was created at the beginning of 1945, but the tank never entered mass production. The SU-102 was powered by a single engine the V-2-44 diesel engine with a power of 500 hp. The original version of the vehicle was armed with a single 122mm D-25S gun and a single 12.7mm DSzK machine gun. The SU-102 was built in parallel with another vehicle, very similar in design - the SU-101. It was assumed that one of them would be the successor to the already produced SU-100 tank. The Uralmash plant in Yekaterinburg was to be responsible for the design work and possible production. The new tank was largely based on the design of the T-44 tank. A novelty, compared to such self-propelled guns as SU-100 or SU-152, was the relocation of the fighting compartment to the rear of the vehicle. Despite the good ratings the tank obtained during the tests, neither the SU-102 nor the SU-101 entered mass production.
